Weighing in at 21 lbs. at only 5 months old, Riley is our newest addition to the family.  Born on July 5th, he loves to: laugh, cry, spit-up, fill his diaper just before an outing, roll over, and say, “Vbaa!”  He also likes to make raspberry noises whenever he gets a little feisty.  He smiles easily and shows off his dimples constantly. (He has more than the average golf ball.)  He is very ticklish, cuddly, and roly-poly.

We are amazed at how Conrad loves to run and play, jump off the diving board, and pretend that everyone who will hold his string or rope is a horsy or doggy.  However, due to his adventuresome spirit, he chipped his front teeth, fell off the couch and broke his collarbone, and has a perpetual bruise on his head.  We love that he is potty trained, and he loves animals, reading stories, singing songs, and flirting (in an unconventional way) with older women.

Hans switched from designing bridges to working in land development.  After work, he is busy visiting church members, studying for a real estate class, moving people in & out of the ward, and playing basketball (he still has time to take Monica out on dates).  He really enjoyed summer swims with Conrad, a family trip to San Diego to the zoo and Sea World (Conrad liked the Clydesdale horses best), and the first family airplane ride to Washington D.C. in October (We also saw the Allspach side of the family in Ohio and U. of PA MBA school.)

Riley’s birth has helped Monica to be more organized and energetic.  She started turbo walking with some friends at 6:30 a.m, has lost her pregnancy weight, and is looking hot!  She also completed six credits toward a psychology degree at UNLV and will take another six in the Spring.  She got us to the semi-finals for Trading Spaces (we weren’t picked so please never watch the show again).  She’s a great mother to the boys, even though she’s pushed to her limit often.
